Farewell Summer
These are the dog days of autumn when the humidity and heat leave me begging for some relief. Even the beach was sticky and the salt water clung to my skin like fly paper! I long for later autumn when the air is crisp, the leaves are descending and the pumpkins are almost ready to be plucked from the garden. This is the last hurrah for a summer with amazing sticking powers. Goodbye summer, it was fun, but the children are back in school, the tomatoes are almost all gone and I must get to my lesson plans. Farewell.
